Just so y'all know Texas is about 80% Republican according to all the polls I have seen. The largest concentration of liberals unfortunately has always been in our state capitol Austin. I have read this thread and thousands of others. I have come to believe that our current resident of the white house has intentionally caused this nation great harm and if reelected will increase his efforts to destroy our nation. I have not seen 2016 nor do I need to. I have read enough about this pissant in chief of ours to know that unless we we vote him out next month the USA as we know it will never be the same. Y'all need to read up on Hitlers rise to power

Agreed! I watched the series the 3rd Reicht and it was told from the average German citizens point of view and its eerily similar to the irrational exuberance over Obama. I fault our media keeping the average citizen comfortable with their bias. The Truman effect.Just so y'all know Texas is about 80% Republican according to all the polls I have seen. Thanks but I'm not exactly young (54). I heard Alan Greenspan say if everyone knew there was a crisis coming, there wouldn't be one. He was referring to the 97 stock market crash. But that's so true and our founding fathers knew the traps of big government and sought to protect us from big govt by having enumerated powers. The healthcare bill is a complete dismantling of enumerated powers. You may have heard this but here's a great speech by Ronald Reagan in 1961 on the subject:
Thanks for sharing this. Everyone should listen to it.

Obama goes against everything America stands for... if he was a republican he would have already been impeached over Benghazi. Please help to rid the White house of this filth and restore integrity and honor to the Oval office this election!!

The last time this plan was tried by a president the economy collapsed. Voters rejected a rehash of the Bush ideas in 2008, and Mitt Romney is back trying to sell the same plan in a different order in 2012. The reality is that Republicans have no idea how to fix or grow the economy, but they do have an ideology that tells them government is bad, and tax cuts for the wealthy are good.
Mitt Romney isn’t some bold visionary who has the secret to unlocking our national economic power. He is just the latest in a long line of Republican salesmen who are peddling an economic plan that didn’t work then, and won’t work now."

"Mitt Romney’s 5 point plan to jumpstart the economy is actually John McCain’s 2008 5 point plan to get the economy moving, which was George W. Bush’s 2004 five point plan to grow the economy. The plan for the Republicans is always the same, cut taxes, reduce spending, a talking point about school choice, more domestic oil drilling, and free trade.

The only reason the economy didn't improve under Bush was because of the wars and his democrat like spending. You can't lower taxes and raise spending.
Obamas plan isn't even economics. Its a plan his base will like because it sounds good to the layman who has no economic wavy which encompass 90% of his electorate.
Top down, trickle down, whatever you want to call it is economics. What Obama is proposing is socialism and it will not help the economy.

We all know we are a consumer based economy. How do we get consumers spending again? Only one way. Put more money in consumers pockets to build confidence in spending more. When folks spend more then more people are hired to make products. More are hired to print packaging of products. More are hired in warehouses, shippers, ect. That grows the economy.
Look at Christmas. More are hired to handle the spending. It should be like that year round.
Obama is raising taxes. Romney wants to cut taxes. If I had more to spend each week I would spend more.

I know if I am in a bind spending more only makes things worse. So now Obama's back is against the wall from all the bounced checks. So, he is going to tax us through Obama care. And even says so in Obama care. He will reduce the deficit by 143 billion in ten years by " collecting taxes" it is in the bill. You can read it for yourself.
143 billion in ten years, compared to 16 trillion. Not going to cut it.
Want to grow the economy, get people spending. Only one way. Cut taxes.
