Everything when smooth for me and is running fine also I do have root access. Make sure you are on stock with voodoo root keeper and you will be fine. Always be prepared to wipe data when ever flashing a update or ROM but you shouldn't have to.

I upgraded my MAXX on Xmas Eve as soon as I could download the file (got the one posted on Droid-Life) and then later that night dropped my MAXX on the street & busted the screen. I then pulled out my OG RAZR & swapped the battery/back cover from my damaged MAXX to make a new MAXX. Then upgraded that one as well. Both upgrades went flawlessly and I was able to keep root on both. Which is good because I totally voided my warranty. :D

I have been through so much $#!% with this update.. im horrible at following even the simplest instructions, so i lost root. I thought about trying to swap out a vzw but superuser app was still there as a baked in app. decided to fastboot with matt's utility but for some reason it was doing nothing. i had no idea what i was doing and tried to use rsdlite and things got BAD. after retrying a few times with it failing i finally got it to do something (Even though i go error message saying AP fasboot (s) flash failure) then made it to recovery and installed update. The phone would boot but any time it shut down it went back to the flash failure error in ap fastboot. i was able to get it to boot by holing in all of the buttons while device was off and select to boot normally. also jb didnt seem to be running right this time so i decided to try Matt's utility again on a different computer and finally got it to brick my phone the right way and install the update.
Matt's utility is a lifesaver for idiots like me!
Now running JB and it buttery smooth :)

seems like 62% of the customers are satisfied not counting the ones on the fence. sounds like a passing grade to me! Added to list of things to do before 2013. :D

Update worked flawlessly, retained root, installed safestrap 3.07 and Batakang Alpha 6. No issues, love the update. Everything does seem to be snappier, battery life has improved, and overall I think it's much better than ICS! And Matt, that 4.2 camera seems to work better for me than the Blur Camera, after extensive testing. Thanks!

If anyone took the upgrade and lost wifi connectivity (which is a huge deal for me as I don't have service with Vzw and do all my talking VoIP) - This is the response I got from Moto earlier tonight...

Denny Joy: To provide you with the best possible support for this type of question, we will need to ask you to call our call center directly. You will not have to repeat any troubleshooting steps that we have just done as I will be saving this entire conversation and all you will have to do is dial 800-734-5870 for our Android Support Line. When prompted, please enter your 10 digit cell phone number that you provided me just now in our chat. Please provide the reference number to one of our Android Support Specialists. Your reference number for this chat is XXXXXX-XXXXXX. Our Level 2 agents are available Monday to Friday from 7am-10pm CST and on Saturday & Sunday from 8am-5pm CST.

I haven't called yet and likely won't have a chance to call til Wednesday night but it's worth a shot if you're dealing with the same problem I am.

Put it on the spare Razr, flawless install. Followed root saver directions to the T, kept root. Played around, goofed up, restore via SS305 failed. Reflashed ICS, updated to JB in recovery. Could be something to do with SIM card not valid causing failed restore. Eh, oh well, it's a spare. I'll fix it when(ever) fastboot files for JB come out. I'll wait till the official with JB kernal comes out...buy not easily. ;-)

Loving JB and I can easily look past the minor bugs in this build compared to ICS...besides I have WiFi, don't care for mobile hotspot and the best part, I kept root by simply following instructions to a T. Can't wait for real custom ROMs on final builds and next future JB software updates to make JB better and faster :D

Followed everything, and lost root ;_;.

Almost bricked my phone by being stupid, and trying to run the utility to flash back to ICS. Thankfully, was able to boot into recovery (with 20% battery to spare!), re running the update, and getting back to JB.

Having major issues with GPS lock. Thinking about factory restoring.

If you have lost root, you really dont have anything else left to lose. Use matts 1.82 tool and get back to (bricked) .211, then reinstall with the JB tool and you will have 4.1.2 without root. It runs decent enough.

Installed JB and kept root . Blue tooth voice dialing is useless and is one of the most important features I want from my phone. I wish I could go back to ICS

Kept root, and even wasn't really paying attention when I did it. Didn't even have to do a wipe. I did do a wipe though when trying to get Tether working, but turned out I was just looking at the wrong sqlite database.... Didn't want to pay the 2.99 to do something that I do regularly at work via command line sqlite tools, problem being though, you have to know which database to copy.

FoxFI didn't work, but the SQLite hack did, although my entitlement check was on a totally different ID than what I had seen listed, something like 68.

Liking it, have had 0 problems that I noticed so far. WIFI works.. haven't tried GPS yet, guess I should. Battery life had already started sucking for me on ICS, seems like this is about the same, getting only about 24hrs with about 4 hrs of screen on time with a MAXX, seemed like I use to get more like 32hrs with it, maybe its some APPS I have installed, after the wipe, I am running it a bit leaner.

Before applying the update in stock recovery I used Matt's 1.8.1 Utility to Fastboot to 211 then rooted, used the OTA Root keeper. used Matt's Restoreroot bat and kept root and have been flashing awesome fully functional JB ROMS in SS everyday :)
