Finally got tired of all the bloatware and bad battery life on my maxx believe it or not. I did a hard reset to reinstall ICS and figured what a great time to try rooting the phone. So happy I did because now I feel like it is truly mine and not Verizon's. Thanks to all and I am excited to learn about and use some ROM's and later on unleash the power of this OS.
Thanks again just so very happy with how asy it all was thanks to the devs.

The best way and the only way is to use custom roms.. there is no point just rooting and disabling few services .. Have tried all of it.... Now with custom ROM I can feel the raw power of Razr

Please tell me you have safestrapv.3.0.5 right? Did you backup? If so reload your backup download safeatrap 3.0.5 then your stock ROM is already backed up and its so easy to flashHey gang, Just rooted my razr maxx, and while I love the phone, had enough of the bloatware so I rooted. Root went fine, got myself all setup with CWM and Titanium Backup, and when I tried installing the Full Throttle AOKP Jelly Bean ROM, it failed and now I can't do anything with my phone, so here I am.

I backed everything up, but I have no idea what to do in terms of actually accessing it. In Recovery mode I can see the folder that I created w/ the backup, just can't do anything with it.

Yeah that's the only ROM that's found... might have to use Matt's utility 187. Google that

After some research, I'm rooted, safestrapped, and...well, still gaining comfort before I take the next step of actually tossing a custom ROM on it.
I should have a signature here...somewhere.
